Halloweeeeen

So, Halloween has come and gone, I was a total slacker and this year's costumes were done at the last minute. literally. With the exception of E & N and that's only because N is a cheater and bought his costume and Tia P made E's for her birthday. It wasn't meant to be a costume but my laziness made it one. what. D's costume turned out great for it's lack of effort, if I may say so myself. :)
I made my costume in about 2 hours and thanks to some awesome thrift store finds, it was a success. Unfortunately, I did not get any good pictures of it but a friend snapped this picture of me while I was playin
g the part.
Yes, I am Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds.
Yes, I am pretty proud of this costume.

E's soccer season is now over, N turned out to be a pretty good coach and the girls loved him. They were silly and liked to call him "Dr. Pepper"...who knows. We had a great season and only lost about 2 games..I quit keeping track though since this was all for fun. I don't know if I'll be putting her back in soccer for the Spring season, I think I want to go back to gymnastics and maybe she can play soccer next fall. I guess we will see what we decide to do.

Up next, Family camping trip, Thanksgiving and Christmas decorating.

Fall is here!

E turned 4 and had a great birthday party! The house was packed (time to book a bigger venue, our house won't cut it anymore), it was hot, but I think everyone had a great time. It was a Fresh Beat Band theme, complete with groovy smoothies, pizza from Harper's Singing Pizza Cafe, Marina's hip hop and pop cakes*, Shout's Cool Beans, Kiki's kickin dip, and Twist's Sweet sodas! The children played musical chairs, made a noisemaker craft and danced. This party had a lot of trial and errors but now I know better than to have a group of 3-4 year olds do a craft (that takes time) because their attention span is just not long enough (thanks for the great idea, Nick JR. NOT!) Unfortunately my phone was dead and I took pictures on my mom's camera, which means I will probably never download them and get them :( But I did get a good picture of her on her actual birthday holding up a couple of her presents.

*Pop cakes are NOT as easy as they look! What a miserable project to bake lol

She started Pre-school and she loved it so much that we switched her to 3 days a week instead of just 2. She is learning so much, knows all her vowels and sounds, days of the week, months in the year, etc. Her teacher tells me they will start learning how to read in January, whaat!? my baby 4 year old is gonna learn how to read!

We have taken a break from gymnastics for the fall and she is now doing soccer. We are Team Marsh aka the butterflies, N is coaching, something I never thought he would agree to do but he loves his baby girl and it had to be done (I think he secretly enjoys it though, shh don't tell). We have won our 2 games so far, yay! E is still getting the hang of it and although she hasn't scored a goal yet, she's getting better. She is the youngest/smallest on the team so keeping up is kind of hard for her.

D is crawling now, has a total of 6 teeth and I can already tell he is going to be a wild child. E & D have so much fun together and get along really well (for the most part). Watching them grow together is going to be SO much fun! He still can't say many words, just "mama" & "dada" he knows what a lot of words mean and smiles when he recognizes or understands what we're talking about. He claps when he gets excited and it's so cute! I wish my phone were fast enough to get good pictures of him in action!

N's 27th birthday just passed (I had a birthday in August, yada yada) and I made him the most delicious chocolate cake. It's a recipe I found on Pinterest called "Ultimate Death by Chocolate Brownie Cake" (link takes you to the recipe). Mine was not as beautiful but it was so good, who cares! I will definitely be making this cake again the next chance I get :)

We had to take "Raja" back to her shelter, she was not a good pet for children. We have now taken in Crash & Disco from next door and they are great! They like E, they don't mind D when he smacks on them, they cuddle and the best thing about them, they don't bite or scratch! E has a few scratches from playing with them but that's bound to happen with any cat. We are just glad we can actually touch our pets this time, Raja would have E's arm if she were to try to pick her up but Crash & Disco love E's love.
Cuddly "Crash"
Loveable "Disco"

Everything is going great and we are having fun everyday and enjoying life. Next up...Halloween!! yay! Can't wait to get our costumes and have fun! Until then!

Playing catch up

A little run down on the family...

Me & Nathen are the same 'ol same 'ol

Eden is a MESS!  (haha) our little sour patch kid. She will be 4 in August (gah! time flies) and will be starting pre-school. I'm going to cry, I just know it and there's no doubt in my mind that she will go and not even look back. It's only 2 days a week but still!
She has been the BEST big sister ever, she is better than I thought she would be. Not a jealous bone in her body and nothing but love for her "baby broder". She loves to help change his diaper and then say "ew!" and not help when it gets to the actual diaper changing, so in reality, she loves to get me what I need to change his diaper and then leave me to handle the mess (just like daddy haha).
She has started gymnastics and loves it! I'm so glad that she has a safe place to go and tumble and let out her energy, this child feels no pain! Her current obsession is The Fresh Beat Band so needless to say, I KNOW all the words to their songs and even their dance moves and we have our own concert here at home. Well, I do, she makes me dance and sing, I'm her Fresh Beat Band slave. She's so smart and I'm so excited to see her grow up and see her goofy personality come out!

The newest addition to our family, Desmond, is a high maintenance handful but I wouldn't have him any other way (well maybe lol). He loves being held and he'll let you know if he's unhappy (insert banshee cry). He & Eden are going to tag team against me and be a destructive little pair, I already know it. He loves his big sister and laughs at everything she does. Daddy puts him to sleep the best and he (Desmond not Nathen) "sings" as he's falling asleep, it's so cute.
He is a BIG baby, I was so used to having petite little Eden that I didn't know how hard it was to have a big baby. By big he's pushing 20 pounds at 7 1/2 months and is 29.5 inches long. He's wearing 12 month size clothes but that can also be because of his big ol cloth diaper booty (hehe). He loves to kick his legs (future soccer player!) and he's starting to get more mobile. He's not crawling yet and I'm not sure exactly how he does it but he will move from one side of his blanket to the other side all without crawling (I personally think he can apparate but that's just my theory ;D). His bottom 2 teeth are coming in (yikes!) and he's just growing like crazy. Time, slow down, ok? thanks.
